858,571. Disc mills. MERGES, H. A., [trading as CONDUX-WERK H.A. MERGES KOMM.-GES]. March 20, 1959 [March 22, 1958], No. 9830/59. Class 59 A disc mill comprises a rotary disc 2, Fig. 1, having a plurality of concentric circularly arranged groups of teeth, 3, 4, 5 alternating with similarly arranged groups of teeth 3<SP>1</SP>, 4<SP>1</SP>, 5<SP>1</SP> on a stationary disc 9, there being at least two groups of teeth 5 adjacent to the periphery of the rotary disc consisting of teeth tapering at least in the circumferential direction 14 in which the disc is rotated whilst the inner groups of teeth 3 on the rotary disc consist of teeth tapering in a circumferential direction opposed to the direction of rotation of the rotary disc. The groups of teeth adjacent to the periphery of the rotary disc may consist of teeth of semilenticular shape, as at 21, Fig. 2, pear shape, as at 22, Fig. 3. triangular shape, as at 23, Fig. 4, or rhomboidal shape, as at 24, Fig. 5. The inner groups of teeth on the rotary disc consist of teeth 13 of trapezoidal cross-section. The intermediate groups of teeth on the rotary disc consist of teeth 20 of trapezoidal cross-section. Instead of one disc being stationary, both discs may be rotated in the same or opposite directions.
