Classes 52(1) and 52(2) A rack or shelf structure has vertical posts 1 and cross beams 2 formed as channel members, the flanges of each post 1 being provided with a row of obliquely disposed keyhole slots 5 and an end plate 6 is welded to each end of cross beam 2 and has a similar oblique keyhole slot 7, the apertures 5, 7 being disposed adjacent one another, when the structure is erected, but extending in opposite directions so that their wider portions 8, 9 can receive the heads 81, 91 of a union member 10 to secure the parts together. When the cross beam is loaded it is forced obliquely downward so that end portions of the end plate 6 engage firmly with bent portions of posts 1.
