Abstract

847,576. Vehicle lamps. LLOYD-EVANS, P. March 23, 1959 [Jan. 9, 1959], No. 815/59. Classes 75(3) and 75(4). [Also in Group XXXVIII] A lighting device for a road vehicle consists in the combination of a parking light with the mounting of an external driving mirror so that the red light from a lamp is reflected in the mirror. A parking light having a forward white and a rear red glass 16, 17 encloses a bulb in a holder mounted at the top centre of a wing mirror 10. The mirror is secured to a housing 20 screwed to a metal support 21 mounted on a vehicle wing and housing the electric lead. The lamp may comprise a separate unit comprising an annular frame clipped on to the bezel of the mirror and secured by a screw. The electric lead may be retained in a groove in the frame. The lamp may be wired to give a winking light for direction indicating. The mounting of the mirror may be modified for attachment to another part of the vehicle.
