Abstract
A composition suitable for cleaning stone surfaces comprises a dilute aqueous solution of (a) hydrofluoric acid, (b) a copper salt, especially copper sulphate, (c) a foaming surface active substance, for example saponin suitably in an amount of 1% by weight of (a), and (d) a silicone precursor such as the sodium salt of monomethylsilicic acid. Ammonium sulphate, a bleaching agent, a rust removing agent, scent, and dyestuff may also be present.
