Abstract
845,813. Gauging departure from standard form. CITROEN S.A., A. July 11, 1958 [Sept. 28, 1957], No. 22322/58. Class 106 (2). For measuring the shape defect of a centreless-ground workpiece, the workpiece 7 is placed in a V-block 6 having a 90 degrees angle, and the readings of a dial gauge 1 noted, the feeler 2 of the dial gauge 1 making an angle of 22 degrees, 30 minutes with one face of the V-block and 67 degrees, 30 minutes with the other face. It is stated that the difference between the diameters of the inscribed and circumscribed circles of a section of the workpiece can be calculated and so can the actual circumscribed diameter. A scale 10 is used for setting the feeler 2 of the dial gauge approximately over the centre of the workpiece 7, according to its nominal size. The acute angles mentioned may vary by up to 5 degrees.
