831,536. Heat insulated containers. EMERSON, J. H. May 30, 1956, No. 16768/56. Class 64(2) A food or drink container comprises inner and outer layers secured to an intermediate layer of solid material, at least one layer being made of paper and another of metal foil or a synthetic plastic material. The container may be of porcelain or earthenware with an insulating substance in the form of sheets of aluminium, copper, tin or plastic material applied to one or both sides of the container, or disposed in alternate relationship with a number of paper or synthetic sheets. The insulating sheets may be corrugated or embossed and be secured by glueing or hot pressing. Powdered, shredded, granular or fibrous forms of asbestos, slag wool, mica, plaster or glass applied as a bound mixture, inserted loosely between the sheets of paper or glued or pressed on to the sheets may also be used as heat insulation.
