In a modification of the method of and apparatus for washing air or other gas of the parent Specification, washing liquid separated from the washed air or other gas is collected on a sloping plate 11 (Fig. 1), and passed through basket filters 13 to remove floating or suspended impurities before being recirculated. The filters may be replaced by removing covers 15. Fig. 2 shows a modified arrangement of baffle members 8, 9, and 10.
