Abstract
830,518. Tuning forks. BULOVA WATCH CO. Inc. March 12, 1956 [March 11, 1955], No. 7601/56. Class 88 (2). [Also in Group XVIII] In an electric timepiece having a tuning fork vibrator one or both tines of the fork has an abutment which limits the amplitude of oscillation of the tines. In the first example, Fig. 1, the abutment 7b is carried by a counterweight 7 on the tine 4, the electromagnetic impulsing means being carried by the other tine 3. The abutments 3a, 4a limit the outward movements of the tines 3, 4. The gear tain is driven by a pawl 20 carried by the tine 4. The abutment 7b or a second abutment could be carried by the cylindrical magnet of the impulsing means. Electromagnetic impulsing means may be associated with each tine and the tines may be inclined inwardly, Fig. 11. In another example, Fig. 13, the cylindrical magnets of the impulsing means have abutments 507b. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 746,465 and 761,609.
