836,903. Machinery guards. BEAKBANE (FORTOX) Ltd., H. March 7, 1958 [March 13, 1957], No. 8226/57. Class 80 (4). A cover 1 for a rod 6 reciprocable relatively to a flange 8 comprises a helically corrugated tube having a longitudinal slit 9 to allow it to be fitted laterally over the rod, the edges of the slit being subsequently joined by a tape 10 of leather, plastic or fabric held both by adhesive and by a nylon cord 11, or a length of material, which is wound along the helical corrugations. One end of the cover 1 is fixed to the flange 8, the other end being fixed to the rod 6 by a clip 7 which also holds the end of the cord 11. The cover itself is formed by joining together two helical strips of flexible material.
