Abstract

835,277. Swabs ; handles. BECK, G. P. Dec. 7, 1956 [Dec. 8, 1955], No. 37522/56. Classes 19 and 61. A holder for an an nular swab comprises a handle 24 having a head 20, preferably of helica configuration, to fit with in a swab 11, and an arm 25 pivotally mounted at 27 in the head and shapec to nest in a recess 26 extending along the head and the handle. The configuration of the head is such that when the arm is in the recess it presents with the head and handle a continuous surface and the swab, a layer of absorbent material encased in a relatively strong sheet material and formed as an annular cylinder, is rammed on to the head for use. Raising of the arm out of the recess ruptures the swab and frees it from the head.
