Abstract

821,299. Two-part couplings. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Oct. 10, 1957 [Nov. 2, 1956], No. 31740/57. Class 38 (1). A radio screened two-part coupling for, say, a sparking plug comprises a metallic shell 3 containing a tubular insulator 5 supporting and insulating a central electrode 7 in contact with a plug assembly electrode 11 connected to the cable 32, 34, the lower end of which is enclosed in a second tubular insulator 58 and rubber packing 70, the latter being compressed by a spring 82. A cap 24 carrying a flexible conduit 22 is attached to the shell 3 by a threaded nut 18. A seal between insulators 5, 58 is made by a rubber-like section 90 compressed by a spring 94. The construction enables the plug assembly to be removed as a complete unit. Specification 684,804 is referred to.
