Abstract
829,730. Glass. ENGELHARD INDUSTRIES Inc. May 6, 1958 [Oct. 25, 1957], No. 14510/58. Class 56. [Also in Group XXXVI] In apparatus for handling molten glass, the portions in contact with the glass, e.g. glass forming dies, or extrusion nozzles or spinnerettes for spinning glass fibres, are made from a platinum-rhodium alloy coated successively with platinum and gold, as by electroplating followed by heating to effect bonding by interdiffusion in the boundary zones (see Group XXXVI).
