Abstract
1421141 Glass fibre manufacture ENGELHARD INDUSTRIES Ltd and TBA INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS Ltd 2 March 1973 [3 March 1972] 10175/72 Heading CIM [Also in Division C7] An apparatus for handling molten glass has at least those parts, which in use are in contact with the molten glass, made of, or coated with, an alloy consisting of: Pt over 30% less than 89%; Rh over 1% less than 25%; and Pd over 10% less than 69% wherein when the Pt content is less than, or equal to, 50% the Rh content is less than 10%. The apparatus may be a bushing for glass fibre manufacture and parts thereof not in contact with the glass may be made of Pd, a Pd-Rh alloy or a Pd-Rh alloy containing one or more other Pt-group metals.
