Abstract

828,738. Inductors. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. April 22, 1958 [June 14, 1957], No. 18782/57. Class 38 (1). A toroidal coil 12 is mounted on a centrallydisposed boss 11 in an open fronted container 10 which is filled with insulating compound, e.g. a coldsetting synthetic resin, to the level of its open face, and a further winding 21, the turns of which pass through a hole through the boss is added to enable the inductance of the toroidal coil 12 to be altered after encapsulation. The toroidal coil may be in two halves, 13 and 14, the leads being brought out to terminal tags 15-18, fitted in the walls of the container and so shaped as to enable them to be used for securing a mounting plate 23 carrying a printed circuit to the container. The container may have extra recesses to take other components such as capacitors.
