828,044. Folding edges of sheet material. SCHMIDT, O. May 9, 1958, No. 14835/58. Class 42 (1). Apparatus for cutting and folding over a tab or tape for use with a machine for stitching in the tab comprises an upper plate 5 movable relatively to a base-plate 6, the plate 5 carries a knife 1 and plates 8 for holding down the material, the knife 1 co-operating with a cutting block 2 mounted on the base-plate 6. The material is folded over the plates 8 by means of rollers 3 provided with gear-wheels which are rotated by means of a double rack formed on a bar 13. Adjacent to the material the rollers 3 are cut away so that a 90 degree segment is left one of the remaining surfaces lying in the same plane as the base-plate 6. The block 2 and rollers 3 may be brought to ironing heat by any known heating arrangement.
