[Also in Group XXXV] An earthing device for preventing bearing currents in a turbine comprises a pair of brushes 2 bearing on the turbine shaft 1 the contact surface of each brush comprising at least two lands separated by a channel extending circumferentially of the shaft, oil being present between the shaft and the control surfaces of the brushes as a coolant and lubricant.
