826,776. Pianofortes. HERRBURGER BROOKS Ltd. Feb. 7, 1958 [Feb. 11, 1957], No. 4563/57. Class 88 (2). An upright pianoforte is provided with a sostenuto pedal. Depression of this causes a stop 21 (Fig. 1) or 23 (Fig. 2) to be moved into the path of spring-loaded levers 17 mounted on the damper stems 9 so that the dampers associated with any keys which are already depressed are held away from the strings until the pedal is released.
