Abstract

813,407. Pipe couplings. BOMFORD, D. R. June 21, 1957 [July 23, 1956], No. 22775/56. Class 99(1). A pipe 12 is provided with a channel-shaped flange 13 the sides 14 of which carry cam means 17 adapated to engage behind a flange 11 on a second pipe 10 and, on rotation, draw the two pipes together, the sides 14 of the flange 13 engaging non-circular portions of the flange 11 to prevent relative rotation between the pipes. A rubber seating member 15 is secured by adhesive to the flange 13 and the cams 17 comprise eccentrically pivoted discs with operating levers 19. An abutment strip 20 across the lower edge of the flange 13 provides a locating means for the flange 11.
