[Also in Groups XXIX and XXXII] A ram consists of a fixed piston 6b<SP>1</SP> in a moving cylinder 1b which is rigidly connected to a cylinder 1a in which moves a piston 6a<SP>1</SP>. Lines 15, 14 inside the piston rod 6b supply the space between the two pistons and the space behind the piston 6b<SP>1</SP> respectively. This space is connected by a line 9 to the space behind the piston 6a<SP>1</SP>. A number of such rams may be fixed together on end and the whole runs on wheels 10.
