Abstract

818,997. Aprons. HUXLEY, I. B. Jan. 8, 1958 [Oct. 9, 1956], No. 30693/56. Class 141 A waterproof apron 10 made of rubber, thermoplastic material, &c. is provided with a detachable outer layer 14 of towelling or other absorbent material. The upper edge 15 of the absorbent layer is connected to the waistband 11 by buttons and buttonholes, press studs, or hooks and bars, or by detachable buttons engaged in registering holes in the two layers. The absorbent layer may cover substantially the whole apron, as shown, or it may comprise a smaller square, Fig. 5 (not shown), having one corner secured at the centre or towards one side of the waistband, or a pentagonal layer 24. Fig. 6, secured along one edge 25 to the waistband. The layer 14 may be convertible into a pocket by means of a draw-tape 20 or a permanently attached tape along its lower edge.
