Abstract

818,298. Crown corks. FE', A., and REY, G. March 26, 1958, No. 9661/58. Class 125(3). A crown cork comprises a sheet metal disc 1 having a radial tongue 3 with circular end 4, parallel incisions 6 to weaken the disc along the line of the tongue and a recess 7 in which the end 4 of the folded tongue lies, there being an enlaregd portion 8 to allow the insertion of a fingernail under the tongue to raise it when it is desired to tear off the closure. The closure has conventional corrugations 9 and cork insert.
