818,011. Sun visors for vehicles. WEATHERSHIELDS Ltd. Sept. 6, 1957 [Sept. 7, 1956], No. 27416/56. Class 103(2) A vehicle interior sun visor comprises a stiff board 10, Figs. 1 and 2, held at 12 in a bent metal socket 11 which is slidably but non-rotatably mounted on a bent metal sleeve 18 which is rotatable on a support rod 16 having a cranked portion 17 mountable in a bracket carried by the vehicle. Referring to Fig. 3, the metal sleeve, has two limbs welded together to form a radial rib 19, and is restrained against axial movement on the rod 16 by circlips 20. The rib 19 has spacer slots 22 through which a resilient metal strip 21 is threaded, the strip engaging the limbs of the socket 11 to eliminate back-lash between the socket and the sleeve. Longitudinal movement of the visor relative to the sleeve 18 and the rod is limited by a stop 24. The visor is covered by a sheet edges 14 heat-seated. In a modification the of plastic 13 folded thereover with the rib 19 of the sleeve is of waved form.
