Abstract

1509038 Stud - and - socket fastenings HAPPICH GmbH GEBR 16 Dec 1975 [21 Jan 1975] 51474/75 Heading E2B [Also in Divisions B7 and F2] A supporting unit for a sun visor in a vehicle comprises a shaft 2 having an end portion provided with circumferential grooves 8, as shown, or with a screw thread, the end portion projecting from a holding means 4 to receive a securing element formed by a unitary bulbous spring cage 1 having at one end, spring tongues 7 to engage a selected groove 8 or part of the thread and, at the other end, inwardly directed arms 9 to bear against the holding means 4. The other end of the shaft 2 also projects from its bearing in the holding means 4 to support the sun visor. The element 1 is formed by punching out material from a sheet. Frictional resistance to rotation of the shaft 2 is adjusted by selection of an appropriate groove 8 or convolution of the screw thread for engagement by the tongues 7.
