Abstract
817,928. Lamps combined with spectacles. CALMES, A. Dec. 2, 1957 [April 12, 1957], No. 37481/57. Class 75(3) [Also in Group XX] In illuminating spectacles of the kind comprising at least one lamp located in a recess in the frame, this recess is open at front and rear, the rear end is of sufficient size to allow easy insertion of the lamp, the front end is smaller to prevent the lamp falling out, and the rear end is closed by a detachable opaque lid. In the spectacles shown a recess g is provided in each lens rim a a lamp d being held in each recess by connection with screw contacts to which leads are joined, these leads being embedded in the frame. The rear end of the recess is longer than the lamp while the front end is smaller and has bevelled edges v1, v2 to define the light beam. An opaque lid o closes the rear end of the recess, being held on the frame frictionally or being slidable in grooves on the frame. Between the lamp and this lid is fitted a U-shaped metal reflector r.
