Abstract

817,393. Drying apparatus. FLEISSNER, H., FLEISSNER, H., and FLEISSNER, G., [trading as FLEISSNER & SOHN MASCHINENFABRIK], Jan. 25, 1956 [Jan. 28, 1955], No. 2518/56. Classes 34(1) and 34(2) A drum sieve drier comprises perforated drums 10-14, Fig. 1, over which textile material, e.g. a fibre fleece, is passed in a sinuous path 15. Air is drawn into each drum through the material by associated fans 16, 19, 17, 20, 18, Fig. 3, disposed on alternate drier sides. Each fan recirculates the air through its associated drum, moist air being dried by passage through heating elements 21, Fig. 2. In is modified drier of three drums and associated fans the axis of the middle drum and fan is at a level higher than the axes of the others. In a further modification, two drums and fans are used, one being vertically above the other. In another embodiment, fans 40,400, Figs. 8, 9, and 42, 420, are located below respective drums 36, 38, whilst fans 41, 410, are above the drum 37. Heating elements 47 ensure that the recirculating air is dried immediately prior to passing through the material. Internal drum baffles 46 confine the air streams to passages through the drier via appropriate fan boxes 43, 44, 45.
