Abstract

816,636. Switches, partly electromagnetic. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Nov. 11, 1957 [Nov. 9, 1956], No. 34374/56. Class 38 (5). The current paths to co-operating switch contacts are provided by substantially parallel, loop-like parts so that when engaged the contacts are urged together by the current flow through the parts. Fig. 1 shows one of a pair of fixed contact-members and Fig. 2 a bridging contact-member, the members having cooperating contacts at 4 and 7 respectively. The contact-members are made from copper strip which is cut away to form the loop-like parts 5, 8. Fig. 3 (not shown) illustrates a normallyclosed retractive switch embodying contactmembers of the above type.
