Abstract

815,649. Winding-yarns. VEB SPINNU N D ZWIRNEREIMASCHINENBAU KARL-MARX-STADT. Feb. 22, 1956, No. 5551/56. Class 120(2) In a textile winding machine of the type in which a pivotally mounted package holder 2 holds a package in contact with a fixed traverse drum 1 pressure between the package and the drum is maintained constant by at least one band brake, the band 5 of which passes round a segmentally shaped braking member 6 rigidly attached to the package holder 2. As the package increases in size the holder 2 swings upwards and the member 6 rotates on the shaft 3 of the holder 2 so that a smaller arc is engaged by the band 5. One end of the band 5 is rigidly attached at 8, the other end being adjustable by a tension sping 9 and screw 10. A notch 11 in the member 6 engages a spring- pressed plunger 12 to retain the holder 2 in the doffing position into which it is moved manually by a handle 13.
