Abstract

803,064. Work-holders. FUSARC, Ltd. July 19, 1956 [July 25, 1955], No. 21487/55. Class 83 (3). A work-holder for supporting work during welding &c. operations, comprises a motor 24 for raising, and simultaneously tilting, the worktable 10. The table is mounted on trunnions bearing in an arm 15 raised on a column 16 by a lead-screw 25 driven by the electric motor 24, through gearing. A train of gears 20-22 in the arm 15 meshes with racks 23 on the column 16 and with toothed-sectors 17, 18 attached to the table, and operating to tilt the table upon the arm being raised, the tilting-movement reducing the vertical travel of the centre-of-gravity of the work and the table 10 combined, compared with of the arm. Rollers 26 on the arm run on track on the column 16, and the table may be turned about an axis of symmetry, perpendicular to its plane, by hand or by a motor 13 driving through a belt or chain in a casing 14, and gearing in a housing 12.
