803,004. Saddle supports. DAVIES, R. V. June 28, 1957 [July 12, 1956], No. 21539/56. Class 136(3) A bicycle or like saddle mounting comprises a stem 14 which slidably engages in the seat tube 10 of the cycle frame, a pivotally connected tube 20 to which the saddle is attached, and one or more control links 24x pivotally connected' at 23 to the pivoted saddle attachement tube 20 and to a clamping bolt 13 for tightening up the upper split end of the seat tube 10 to secure the stem 14 in adjusted position; the arrangement being such that, under' the control of the link or links 24x, in raising the saddle through the full range of adjustment the tube 20 to which it is attached is turned upwardly and rearwardly about its pivotal connection 21 with the stem from a substantially horizontal position to an upwardly and rearwardy inclined position, tightening up the clamping bolt to secure the stem 14 in its position of adjustment in the seat tube 10 serving also to lock the link or links 24x so as to secure the tube 20 in its corresponding adjusted position. A depending holed lug 18 is brazed to the tube 20 and is flanked by the correspondingly holed limbs of a bifurcated spigot member 17 at the upper end of the stem tube 14. The pivot pin 21 passes through the holes in the lug and the flanking limbs.
