Abstract

Vinyl halide polymer compositions comprise as a plasticiser and stabilizer an epoxide of the formula <FORM:0801700/IV (a)/1> wherein R1 to R6 represent a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group. Preferably the total number of carbon atoms in groups R1 to R6 is not above 10. Vinyl halide polymers specified are polyvinyl chloride and copolymers of vinyl chloride with vinyl acetate, acrylonitrile and vinylidene chloride and vinyl chloride-vinylidene chloride - acrylonitrile terpolymer. The epoxide may be 3,4-epoxy-(cyclohexylmethyl-or 1- or 6-, methylcyclohexylmethyl-) 9,10,12, 13-diepoxystearate. The compositions may also comprise a conventional plasticiser such as dioctyl phthalate and a cadmium or cadmium-barium stabilizer, e.g. cadmium stearate.
