A detachable feeding device comprises a hopper 1 having a depending portion 2, which is partly cut away, and a solid, or closed, pyramidal extension 6 which is mounted on the part 2 by means of a bracket 5. A flange 3 on the part 2 is detachably secured to a flange 12 which surrounds an aperture 11 on a sleeve member inserted between sections 13, 14 of the conduit. An adjustable damper 7 is mounted on the part 2.
