Bulk material is fluidized in a pneumatic conveyer duct by gas from a supply duct having elastically self-closing openings whereby the material is prevented from entering the duct when the gas pressure is reduced. The duct may be of synthetic resinous material pierced mechanically or by high-frequency sparks or ion accelerator. The supply duct may be tapered in stages.
