Abstract
801,003. Filters. NEIDIG, A., NEIDIG, W., NEIDIG, W., NEIDIG, H. and NEIDIG, W., [trading as NEIDIG SOHNE MASCHINENFABRIK, F. A.]. June 24, 1955, No. 1323/55. Class 46. [Also in Group II]. A filter for the retention, inter alia, of iron particles present in oil emulsions and cooling media of machines comprises magnetic systems which may be either arranged at each end of an assembly composed of filtering screens alternating with supporting plates for holding back the particles, or fitted in at least some of the supporting plates. In Fig. 1 liquid filters inwards through apertures in the circumference of supporting plates 4, then upwards through disc screens 3, and then through apertures in the inner peripheries of the plates 4. Magnet systems 5, 6 may comprise permanent magnets or electro-magnets. A further assembly of screens 3 and plates 4, followed by a further magnet system, may be added at either end of the filter element, Fig. 2 (not shown). Instead of systems 5, 6, all the supporting plates (Fig. 5) or alternate supporting plates Fig. 3 (not shown) may have magnet rods 13 located in them, arranged, for example, on three concentric circles. The provision of magnet rods in all supporting plates rather than in alternate plates is preferred where the supporting plates are made of non-magnetizable materials instead of iron.
