Abstract

<PICT:0800837/III/1> <PICT:0800837/III/2> <PICT:0800837/III/3> <PICT:0800837/III/4> A corner finishing tool head body A has tw wings A1, A2 formed with mastic receiving recesses 2, 21. The body has a universal connection with a supporting device B having a conical nozzle that will feed mastic to an opening 3 communicating with the recesses 2, 21. A U-shaped spring clamp C is received in grooves 6 in the body A and frictionally engages the spherical head B1 of the supporting device. A two-part corner clip D, D1 (Fig. 2) is received in grooves 9, 12 in the body A. Two trailing matrices E, F are fulcrumed about the inner corner of the upper clip D. Trowelling bars G, G1 are mounted in inclined grooves 18 in the matrices E, F. Side matrices H, K are rigidly connected to the matrices E, F respectively and bars J, L are removably held in grooves in the matrices H, K by six screws 24 (Fig. 3). Arcuate members M, N connect the matrices H,K respectively with the clip D1. A leaf-spring P has its mid-portion held in a groove in the body A by a screw 28 and its outer ends yieldingly bearing against the outer ends of the matrices E, F (Fig. 1) to urge the side matrices against the wall board surfaces 31, 32 so that the trowelling bars G, G1 and the side bars J, L will press against the wall board surfaces. As shown in Fig. 7, a first layer of mastic S is applied to the inner corner and this is covered by a tape T. If excess mastic has been used it will be squeezed out as indicated at S1, S2. Mastic-receiving recesses 35, 36 (Fig. 2) are provided in the wings A1, A2 of the body A. When the tool is applied to the tape T and moved in a downward direction the recesses 35, 36 will scoop up the excess mastic and deposit it over the tape.
