Abstract

800,626. Pallet trucks. ECCLES (BIRMING- HAM), Ltd. Feb. 5, 1957 [Feb. 9, 1956], No. 4010/56. Class 78 (3). The load-lifting frame 11 of a pallet truck is raised and lowered by hydraulic mechanism which is arranged on the truck to allow a long load to project forwardly and/or rearwardly of the lifting frame. The frame is raised by a pair of hydraulic jacks 26 and the jack-actuating pump (not shown) is removably mounted in one of a pair of housing 24 located beyond the width of the frame 11 so leaving the front of the truck free of obstruction. In further modifications the pump is located on either a bridge straddling the frame 11 or under the frame 11, the ground engaging wheels of the truck are driven by an engine, and outrigger wheels, normally out of contact with the ground, are provided.
