Abstract

1,063,843. Masted lift trucks. MATBRO Ltd. April 15, 1965 [April 29, 1964], No. 17894/64. Heading B8H. The mast assembly 8, 11 of a lift truck is pivoted about an axis 10 on a carriage 5 which is movable on a transverse guide rail 4, the arrangement being such that when the mast assembly faces the side of the truck, Figs. 1, 2 (not shown), the lifting carriage 12 may be lowered to straddle the guide rail 4 to bring the fork arms 14 to ground level, Fig. 6 (not shown). The primary mast section 8 is arranged above the guide rail 4, which is mounted over the ground wheels 2, and the lifting carriage 12 has a cut-out portion enabling it to straddle the guide rail 4 and front axle. The carriage 5 is movable along the guide rail 4 by means of a driven endless chain (16), Fig. 5 (not shown), the mast assembly is rotatable about the pivot 10 by an hydraulic ram (not shown), and the lifting carriage is tiltable by an hydraulic ram (not shown).
