Abstract
809,603. Mine arches and props. LINSINGEN, M. VON, [trading as BOCHUMER FISENHUTTE HEINTZMANN & CO.]. Jan. 17, 1956 [Jan. 25, 1955], No. 1603/56. Class 20(2) In a mine arch comprising flanged channels 1, 2 clamped together by a clamp 3, 5. so that they may telescope under mine roof pressure, the parts 3, 5 of the clamp are relatively movable in the longitudinal direction of the channels, the part 5 having bolts 17 engaging slots in the part 3, and the nuts 21 of the bolts engaging inclined surfaces 19 on the part 3 so that the clamping pressure is increased as the parts 3, 5 are carried in opposite directions by the channels 1, 2. There may be frictional gripping serrations on part 3 engaging the flanges 11 of the adjacent channel. The clamp may have a plurality of bolts on each side. Noses 23 support the bolts 17 and prevent tilting of the clamp. The clamp may be used for pit props.
