Abstract

The invention comprises betaine ascorbate and the preparation thereof by reacting betaine with ascorbic acid and separating from the reaction mixture the salt thus formed. The reaction may be effected in aqueous medium, e.g. water or aqueous methanol or ethanol. The process is illustrated by examples.
