Abstract

806,573. Mechanical garages. PEARCE, R. S. Oct. 16,1956 [Aug. 9,1955], No. 22875/55. Class 78 (4). [Also in Group X] Motor vehicles are parked in the bays 11 of any of the multi-floors A to E, each vehicle being lifted up by a lift 13 to the desired floor and pushed on to one of the receiving carriages 15 which is then pushed sideways by hand until opposite the appropriate bay 11 and is then pushed off the carriage lengthways into the bay which may contain 6 vehicles. Each carriage floor is at the same level as the lift cage and its bay, the tyred wheels 151 of the carriage running on a sunken runway 12. Each carriage also has horizontal locating wheels 152 to retain alignment and prevent torsion and has pushing handles 155 and guide rails or troughs for the sides of the vehicle wheels.
