Abstract

The fork lift truck has two sets of power wheels. One set allows the truck to be steered to any part of a flat floor. A second pair of flanged wheels which are suitable for running on a track can also be brought into use. In this case the second set of wheels are raised so as not to come into contact with the ground, but operate only on a raised track, the first set of wheels also being raised from the ground. The tracked vehicle may be used on uneven ground, and accurate siting during the tracked run reduces stacking time.
