Abstract
805,315. Vibrating devices for mixing. MASTER VIBRATOR CO. July 31, 1956 [Aug. 9, 1955], No. 23641/56. Class 86 [Also in Group XXIV] A submersible concrete vibrator 10, suspended from a cable 11 with elect:rical conductors 12, switch 14 and plug 13, comprises a cylindrical housing 15 with a commutator series wound electric motor 24, 26 connected to a drive shaft 27, which extends through one end of the housing remote from the electrical connections 12, 13, 14 and 59 to engage an eccentrically mounted rotatable weight 22, 23 in a detachable housing extension 16 so that, on rotation of the drive shaft 27 and the weight, a node of vibration is set up in the region of the commutator of the electric motor. A thermal overload switch is mounted on a bearing plate 35 to stop the motor should the bearing 36 become overheated.
