Abstract
1330674 Dynamo-electric machines SIEMENS AG 24 Sept 1970 45660/70 Heading H2A An electric motor stator comprises a core 1 and winding 2 attached to an air gap member 9 which has a tubular portion defining a cylindrical space for the motor rotor 3 and is so shaped as to locate itself, the core and the winding in a housing 6. The air gap member may be of steel or, as in the motor shown, of plastics material. The tubular portion of the member 9 has axially extending ribs 12, Fig. 2 (not shown), or 13, Fig. 3 (not shown), which project into the stator slots to secure the core 1 to the air gap member. The member 9 has a trough shaped end portion 14 enclosing one of the stator end windings and engaging the core 6. Plastics material 8 secures the air gap member 9, the core 1 and winding 2 to the housing 6.
