An asymmetric, rotary drilling-bit comprises two legs c, d, having cutting faces of equal width which cut concentric, but discrete, paths f1, f2. The cutting edge may be straight, angular or arcuate and the shank b is of circular or polygonal section. The legs may be shaped so that they both make contact with the wall of the hole, or of the core. In modifications, the cutting faces are formed so that either no core is left, or a thin annular core is left between the paths of the faces.
