Abstract

Low-pressure polyolefins, e.g. polyethylene, are stabilized with a tetra-alkyl thiuram disulphide. Specified disulphides are the tetramethyl, tetra-ethyl and tetra-propyl derivatives, and they may be present in amounts as low as or less than 0.01 per cent, and usually not more than 1 per cent is used.
