Abstract

773,927. Refrigerators. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Aug. 10, 1955 [Aug. 19, 1954], No. 23081/55. Class 29. , A drain trough 14 constructed of material with low thremal mass and high thermal diffusivity, for defrost melt water -is attached to the inner liner 6 of the refrigerator, beneath evaporator 11 which is inclined towards the rear wall, the water draining into a receptacle 15 from which it is led outside the evaporator compartment. The trough is held in an opening in the inner liner 6 by clips 22, and is shaped as shown in Fig. 3, the ledge 19 collecting condensate from the outer surface of the liner. As described the trough is situated in the food storage compartment of a two compartment refrigerator.
