Abstract

701,900. Refrigerators. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. March 10, 1953 [March 15, 1952] No. 6579/53. Class 29 Defrost moisture evaporating means in the machinery space of a refrigerator comprises a heated tray 16 in which rests a receptacle 17 adapted to hold the defrost water resulting from ordinary frosting, the tray 16 receiving overflow due to excessive frosting, which flows into the spaces between the receptable and tray to increase the thermal conductivity therebetween and accelerate the evaporation. The refrigerator is automatically defrosted, the water being collected in a drip tray and conducted to the receptacle by a pipe 13. The tray 16 is welded to a sinuous auxiliary' condenser pipe 15 through which the hot vapour passes direct from the compressor.'
