Abstract

A screen plate for use in treatment of metallic ores comprises a supporting plate provided with holes into which are fitted metal inserts perforated with holes of the size to effect the required degree of screening. The inserts are preferably formed with hexagonal heads which nest together to form a substantially uninterrupted surface. The heads may have projections to assist in breaking up clay during screening, and may have bushings of abrasionresisting alloy surrounding the hole.
