Abstract

727,854. Spinning machine creel. SCHIESS AKT.-GES. April 16, 1953 [April 26, 1952], No. 10385/53. Class 120(2). A spinning machine creel for supporting reserve rolls or packages which in operation rest on a supporting roller or cylinder is characterized in that it comprises a pivoted frame having means for removably supporting a reserve roll and being mounted on the machine to extend upwardly from its pivot to support a reserve roll in an elevated position but adapted to be turned angularly downwards and forwards to a predetermined lowered position for loading. As shown the frame is composed of a horizontal bar 4 which carries near its ends arms 5, 5<SP>1</SP>. The bar 4 is pivotally mounted in bearings 3 on rods 2 of a supporting frame on the machine and at the outer ends of arms 5, 5<SP>1</SP> are bearing members 6, 6<SP>1</SP> for carrying an axle 8 having the reserve roving rolls 7 mounted thereon. The frame can be moved from the upper position to a lowered position (shown in chain-dotted lines) by means of a handle 15. The arm 5 is hollow and contains an inner rod 10 which passes through the bar 4 and may enter a notch 11 in a fixed sleeve 12 for maintaining the frame in its elevated position. The rod 10 can be moved axially against the action of spring 13 by means of the handle 15 pivoted at 14 to disengage the rod 10 from notch 11 and allow the frame to pivot downwards until a projection 16 on rod 4 strikes against an abutment 17 on the sleeve 12.
