719,311. Centrifugal pumps. FARBWERKE HOECHST AKT.-GES. VORM. MEISTER LUCIUS & BRœNING. Oct. 16, 1951 [Oct. 19, 1950; Oct. 19, 1950]. No. 24163/51. Class 110(1) In a centrifugal pump some or all of the moving parts consist wholly or partly of metal, while the casing - consists of a thermoplastic material, the interior of the casing being of eccentric construction. As shown, the casing consists of an outer part 6 made from polyvinyl chloride and of substantially circular cross section; the eccentricity being obtained by firmly fixing, e.g. by welding, a wedge-shaped strip 8 of polyvinyl chloride on the inside of the outer part. The metallic moving parts may consist of a corrosion-resistant alloy such as V2A-steel, and may be coated with a protective layer of polyvinyl chloride, rubber or the like.
