Abstract
648,004. Injectors for raising liquids. VENTURA, E. Jan. 31, 1947, No. 3013. Convention date, Feb. 8, 1946. [Class 71] [Also in Group XXI] An injector device for raising liquids containing matter in suspension, particularly adapted for subaquatic operations, comprises a suction pipe 13 connected to a delivery pipe 4 through a funnel-shaped connecting piece 3, the latter being provided with a number of nozzles 12 projecting slightly into the int e r i o r thereof and branching from an annular collector 9<SP>11</SP> fed from a supply pipe 9<SP>1</SP> with gaseous fluid under pressure, the axes of the nozzles being arranged obliquely to the wall of the connecting piece and preferably inclined upwards so that the jets of gaseous fluid issuing therefrom will import an ascending swirling motion to the liquid being raised. The suction pipe 13 which is flexible for ease of dragging over the sea bed is of substantially the same diameter as the delivery pipe. The latter opens into a box at its upper end provided with a deflecting wall for separation of the gaseous fluid from the liquid.
